The product line S500 was designed with focus on a small and compact outline, dynamic drivability and splash-water protection. Furthermore it had to be prepared for easy modification according to customers' demands. All these features became real in the MP-S50 basic platform, thus making it perfect for most industrial applications requiring high flexibility and low cycle times.

The standard version offers the same features as the bigger platforms. The control software PlatformCtrl is running on the embedded onboard computer without any limitations. This software is prepared to cope with the most common tasks in industrial applications. Due to the energy saving measures an uptime of app. 10h can be reached.

The MP-S500 can of course be modified to match the individual needs of every customer, no matter if the task is automatic transport in a factory, mobile manipulation, surveillance or telepresencce.

The third, completely redesigned version of the MP-M470 is now available. This version has all the features the customers appreciate since the very first robot of this product line was built. And of course it also has all the improvements that have been developed over since the year 2000.

The MP-M470 is used in a lot of different applications. The first robots were sold to the Museum für Kommunikation in Berlin where they are entertaining visitors since April 2000. Other entertainment robots have been used by the Opel company for interactive customers information.

Researchers all over Europe are using the MP-M470. The Universität Bremen, the CEA in France and many others appreciate the platform's robust frame, the very easy access to all the electronic devices as well as the possibility to attach different manipulator arms.

The new third version of the MP-L655 was designed to offer easy access to all components and provide a lot of room for modifications and additional devices. Because of this, the product line L655 is especially suitable for the integration of one or two manipulator arms.

Its high stability and simple modification made the MP-L655 the number one choice for several research projects dealing with mobile manipulation. No matter if a unique SCARA-Arm or one or more manipulators Mitsubishi PA-10 have to be integrated, the big platform can handle almost every application. The basic design can be changed without problems to contain even very big industrial electric control cabinets.

Since the system is extremely robust and offers the highest payload of all Neobotix platforms, there is hardly any limit to the integration of additional devices and functions.

All Neobotix standard platforms come with:
  • Onboard computer: By default every Neobotix platform uses an embedded PC with 1.5GHz and 1GB RAM. Depending on the customer's request a flash module with a Linux OS or a rugged hard drive with Windows XP is integrated. In any case the control software PlatformCtrl is installed.
  • Controls: A four-line LC-Display shows the most important information on the current state of the robot. The MP-S500 also has a keypad to directly interact with the robot without the need to have a host PC.
  • Battery charger: All platforms come with a battery charger that can be manually connected.
  • Crash avoidance: All platforms with only one laser scanner are equipped with a system to detect holes and narrow obstacles in front of the robot.
  • Emergency stop: The platforms feature both standard emergency stop buttons, which have to be reset by the main access key, as well as speed-dependent safety fields. Any obstacle within these fields sets the robot to an emergency stop mode that is reset automatically, soon after the field has been cleared.
  • Brake release: The brakes of the standard platforms can be opened with the push of a button even if the robot is shut down or in emergency stop mode.
  • Drives: All robots use maintenance-free, brushless servo motors with low-backlash gears and high performance amplifiers. The motors' fail-safe brakes are automatically closed to reduce energy consumption.
  • Documentation and Support: Every robot is delievered with a technical description, operating manual and a backup of the installed software. If any problems occur, our team is here to help you.

Options

  • Sensors: If it is necessary for the application, additional ultrasonic sensors for collision avoidance, a gyroscope and/or a GPS-module for improved localisation can be integrated. The default laser scanner dynamically avoids collisions when driving forward and also detects holes and narrow obstacles. A second scanner can be optionally integrated into MP-M470 and MP-L655 to achieve a 360° field of view.
  • Cover: The MP-S500's hull is made from GRP that can be coloured or painted customer specific. Using high quality carbon fibre reinforced plastics is also possible. MP-M470 and MP-L655 can also be equipped with customer specific covers.
  • Additional electronics: All Neobotix platforms use an unregulated main voltage of 24V and auxiliary power at 12V and 5V. Additional devices can easily be integrated.
  • Charging station: An automatic charging station is available for all platforms. This enables the robot to recharge itself according to a fixed schedule or when the battery charge is low.
  • Modifications: Whatever you want to do, create a unique entertainment roboter or built a mobile manipulator, we can support your idea and modify the standard robot according to your needs!
